°CRYO becomes the Recovery Partner for IPL Teams Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals

Global cryotherapy leader °CRYO Stay Young has become the recovery partner for Indian Premier League (IPL) teams Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals in a move to support them with an enhanced physical performance during the IPL season.

Cryotherapy is an innovative treatment based on the localized or full body use of intense cold to reduce the surface temperature of the body to 4°C.  This drop boosts blood circulation, which in turn results in a higher metabolic and caloric burn rate. The increased circulation of healthy nutrients in the body stimulates various health benefits in the areas of performance, recovery, wellness, beauty, and slimming. Cryotherapy has also been adopted in the world of sports by athletes who are looking to treat muscle injuries and inflammation. Athletes such as Cristiano Ronaldo and LeBron James as well as sports teams such as the New York Knicks have integrated it into their athletic recovery routines.

“We at °CRYO Stay Young are proud of being part of the Delhi Capitals’ and Rajasthan Royals’ athletic recovery during their time playing in the Indian Premier League in the UAE. Cryotherapy has become synonymous with rehabilitation and recovery in many professional sports. And we are proud to introduce this technology to the sport of cricket through the IPL which is the fastest-growing segment of the sport.  We wish both teams the best of luck in the IPL,” said Benny Parihar, Co-Founder of °CRYO Stay Young,”

°CRYO Stay Young has worked closely with the respective physiotherapy teams to train them on the use of the technology and implementation of the treatments. Each team has been provided with one of °CRYO Stay Young signature cryogenic applications based on their specific needs to use for the duration of the league. The localized °CRYO Penguin cryotherapy device supports injury and sports recovery in specific areas of the body and the whole body cryotherapy chamber speeds up recovery, reduces inflammation, and relieves pain.

When asked about their decision to include cryotherapy in the team’s recovery routine, John Gloster, Head Physiotherapist of the Rajasthan Royals, said: “We’re always keen on using things backed and supported by science and also athlete outcomes as well, that help our players recover quickly and recover better. We’re seeing improved sleeping patterns following its use, which is a bonus because sleep is the most important part of recovery”.

Head Physiotherapist for Delhi Capitals Patrick Farhart said: “CRYO allows us to focus that cold treatment on a very specific area which helps the players delay DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness) which helps [them] recover faster and get back to training.”

Harshal Patel, who plays for the Delhi Capitals, has experienced the treatment and stated: “I had an injury yesterday, and I did 3 or 4 sessions, which really helped relieve any muscle strains. These treatments are helping us be better prepared before every match”.

Once the tournament is complete, °CRYO Stay Young plans to welcome the teams in their signature flagship center in Emirates Towers in Dubai to enjoy the °CRYO Deluxe experience, which rejuvenates the mind and body, and includes benefit boosting enhancements that focus on removing everyday stress while increasing energy levels.

The 2020 IPL will be held in the United Arab Emirates from September 19 to November 10.
