Company History
Cryogenic Technical Services (CTS) was established in 1980 as a world-leading cryogenic design and consulting company and (at the request of NASA) soon expanded into a specialty fabrication operation as well.
Early projects included a vast range of cryogenic equipment and solutions for the management of low temperature technology.
CTS went on to contribute to the advancement of cryogenics in areas such as thermal and mechanical design of cryogenic dewars, thermodynamic and physical design of process equipment, cryogenic heat exchangers, mechanical and thermal design of superconducting magnet cryostats, research apparatus and other equipment.
As the world turned its attention to alternative energy strategies, CTS began looking at certain challenges that had confronted the progress of “the hydrogen economy”—specifically around the liquefaction and storage of hydrogen to provide better flexibility between production and demand.
In 2007 the Australian energy company Eden Energy Ltd. acquired CTS. This new acquisition turned Eden Energy into the only organization in the world capable of handling the full life cycle of hydrogen energy. Today, Eden Energy proudly offers a complete solution from generation and storage to fuel blending and distribution.
